Storyblok is the first headless CMS that works for developers & marketers alike.

The Fortune 500s are amongst one of the world’s top leading enterprises, paving the way for industries and organizations alike in setting enterprise and business examples across the world. Yet, have you ever wondered how their website performs and looks like? A site acts as the first impression, and in first impressions, comes site expectations for fast-loading times, ergonomic user experiences and interfaces that are reactive and user-friendly, and its accessibility to visitors.

We analyzed the Fortune 500 websites to uncover and understand the details behind their technology stacks that power their websites while gaining insights into their overall performance. Using Google Lighthouse, we were able to narrow down the top 50 best-performing and accessible sites out of the Fortune 500s to see what was common amongst them.

In our newly launched report, ‘The State of the Enterprise Web: We Analyzed Fortune 500 Websites Start Pages’, Here's What We Found’, we explored performance factors, a birdseye analysis of the Fortune 500 sites, observations, and insights from the top-performing pages, the most accessible Fortune 500 pages, fun findings in our search, as well as the role of content management systems that contribute to the following sites, and finally, how Storyblok is built for the rigor and strength in site performance that an enterprise needs.

Our analysis took place in surveying and testing each home page using the Google Lighthouse test, where we measured sites in their overall performance (in Accessibility, Speed Index, Best Practices, SEO, Progressive Web App (PWA) Eligibility and Performance) and general observations in design, UX, and CMS utilization, while our research covered many angles of the Fortune 500s digital presences, here are some of our bite-size key findings:
