Storyblok was founded in 2017 by just two co-founders — Dominik Angerer and Alexander Feiglstorfer, who worked on the idea for three years before that.

Admittedly, navigating the various aspects of well-being in a fully remote company can be challenging, but we are actively working to overcome this obstacle. Additionally, our annual retreat is the culmination of our efforts, as it brings all team members together in person at least once a year. This retreat promotes not only networking but also a sense of community and joy among our team.

Storyblok Culture
At Storyblok, we place a high value on team collaboration and building a people-first community. We believe that having a secure space for open and safe communication is crucial to achieving this goal. We always encourage our team members to share their thoughts and opinions, as that is what defines our company culture and values.
To ensure that we stay connected and get to know each other better, we organize coffee chats every two weeks using a Slack integration called #donut. This allows us to pair up team members and facilitate new connections. So, make sure to put the kettle on!
Furthermore, our company founders, Dominik and Alex, have an "open door" policy, which means that they are always available to meet with team members and discuss anything from career development to personal issues.
We also encourage our team members to build relationships outside of work. If you live in the same city as your colleagues, why not organize a coffee catch-up, an after-work drink, or even a hike up a mountain together?
Work from home or co-working
We want you to have a comfortable and productive working environment where you feel at ease. We offer you our standard home office equipment package.
After your probation period, you may continue working from home or opt for a local co-working space or rented office in your region if you wish.
Time off: vacation days, paid sick leave, special leave
At Storyblok, we provide 25 days of paid annual leave and your local public holidays. Rest assured that if the national labor law provides a more favorable standard, it will be applied to your leave entitlement. We can't wait for you to enjoy some well-deserved time off!
When you are sick, we want you to fully recover. That's why we provide all our employees with paid sick days according to local law.
We understand that sometimes you may need to take time off for personal reasons, such as marriage or bereavement. To support you, we have a Special Leave Policy.
Flexible working hours
As a fully remote company with a work-life balance at its core, you can arrange start times and finish times around your life (picking up your kids, walking the dog, taking long lunches, or mid-work long walks).
We fully comply with local regulations and limit weekly hours to a maximum of 38.5, following the Austrian model, since our headquarters is in Linz, Austria.
Professional development
We are committed to investing in your growth and development within the company. We offer a career development fund to each member, which can be used to cover the cost of job-related courses, conferences, books, and other materials that can support your professional growth.
Moreover, if you are interested in attending a course or training to enhance your skills or join a community, you can use up to 8 personal study hours per month during regular working hours.
Team events and retreats
As a fully remote company with team members living in different corners of the world, we have ongoing online fun team events. Some examples of events we have done in the past are cinema night, trivia night, cooking classes, fitness and Tetris challenge, and online fitness classes taught by our own enthusiastic team members.
These events aim to get to know one another, keep in touch from far away, and ensure that we work well as a team.
On certain occasions, like on Storyblok's yearly anniversary or to celebrate winter holidays, we send a special gift to everyone on the team. These tokens of appreciation are important to show Storyblok's gratitude to our team members!
