The mechanics of Storyblok's Partner revenue share

Important announcement: updates to our Partner Revenue Share Program

Effective January 1, 2026, our Revenue Share program will undergo some changes. These updates are intended to better align with our commitment to fostering strong, mutually beneficial partnerships, while also ensuring a fair and transparent reward system.

Key Changes to the Revenue Share Program:

  • Self-Service Projects: Phased Out Revenue Share
Effective January 1, 2026, Revenue Share will no longer be paid out for projects categorized as "Self-Service."
  • Enterprise Projects: Introduction of a New Tier-Based Revenue Share Model
In recognition of the strategic importance of our committed partnerships, we are thrilled to introduce a brand-new Revenue Share model specifically for Enterprise License level projects, also effective January 1, 2026. This new model is designed to reward your dedication and success in securing and developing larger, more complex client engagements.
  • Tier-Based Compensation Structure
The Revenue Share percentages for Enterprise projects will now be determined by your designated partner tier. This tier-based approach allows us to differentiate and appropriately reward partners based on their level of commitment, performance, and strategic value. More comprehensive details regarding the specific percentages for each tier will be provided in an upcoming communication. We are finalizing these details to ensure they are competitive and reflect the value you bring to our ecosystem.

Our Unwavering Commitment to Partnership:

These changes underscore our continued commitment to strong partnerships. We believe these adjustments will create a more equitable and rewarding program that encourages growth and deeper collaboration.

We value your partnership and trust, and our goal is to reward you fairly for your contributions to our shared success. Please speak to your dedicated Partner Manager regarding the tier-specific percentages and additional resources to help you understand and leverage the new Revenue Share model.

Existing Model until Jan 1st, 2026

New Customers

For Self-Service projects, we pay the revenue share through Stripe, a leading payment provider, as it allows us to automate subscriptions, recurring invoicing, and payments. As a partner, you must have a valid Stripe account linked to your Partner account to begin receiving revenue share based on the clients you have brought in. To receive revenue share, it is crucial to connect your Stripe account first. That’s why it’s important to check if Stripe is available in your country and region. Once your Stripe account is set up, you can add your client space(s).

Please take note that Storyblok processes revenue share on self-service licenses via Stripe, that’s why it’s important to check if Stripe is available in your country. The revenue share for self-service licenses benefit rules can only be applied in the EU, because of Stripe limitations. However, it’s still possible to earn revenue share for the Enterprise plan license in APAC and the Americas.

Once your clients commit to a Self-Service subscription fee, you will receive your revenue share per space created into your Stripe account within 45 days.

For Enterprise projects, once a partner has sourced a customer with an Enterprise deal and we received payment, Storyblok will pay the revenue share via wire transfer (no Stripe account needed). Bear in mind that Partners only get revenue share when they are the first touchpoint with the customer and they have registered the lead with their dedicated Partner Success Manager. Enterprise customers have the option of signing one or multi-year contracts, which can all earn a 10% revenue share.

Example

Your customer subscription to the Growth Plan with 20 users is USD 9,339.00 (excl. taxes) per year when billed annually.

From those USD 9,339.00, Stripe will deduct their fee and convert the payment to EUR. From this EUR amount, you will receive 10% right away. Here is the math:

StepsCustomer PaidStripe FeeUSD > EURYour Earning
FormulaUSD 9,339.00-(USD 9,339.00*2.9%+0.30)*0,9*10%
ProgressUSD 9,339.00USD 9,068.00EUR 8,161.00EUR 816.00

Note: For this example, we use an exchange rate of 0.9 USD/EUR and an average Stripe fee of 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction.

You will be able to see your revenue amount in your financials area in your Storyblok partner portal once you set-up the Stripe connection.

Old Customers

For spaces that already have a subscribed space or were created before you had a confirmed Partner account (before you set-up Stripe in your Partner Portal) the revenue share will be paid from the time that the space was added to the partner account, and/or when Stripe is connected. If you already created a space which was not subscribed before you can add it to your partner portal and if you have a confirmed Partner account this space will also be eligible for revenue share. Make sure to add the customer as collaborator to allow them to subscribe as well once you're ready with the space.
